Global Citizen is a non-profit based in the US that believes in the potential for great impact from individual action and brings together people who are committed to addressing the critical global common challenges of climate change, poverty, and inequality. Global Citizen's mission is to end extreme poverty (living on about $2/day) around the world. Global Citizen’s flagship event is the Global Citizen Festival, a unique annual music festival where fans take actions (signing petitions, calling your political representatives, participating in challenges, and more) toward ending extreme poverty to earn points and apply for free tickets. The Global Citizen Festival is timed to coincide with the UN General Assembly to leverage opportunities to get policy and financial commitments from government, corporate, and philanthropic leaders to defeat poverty, demand equity, and defend the planet. 

WHY LIAISON?

Liaison is currently working with Action Network, a Singapore based company, to bring Global Citizen’s work to Asia. Together, we aim to launch annual Global Citizen Festival events across the region, and inspire communities about the power of collective action to achieve the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As a start, we are aiming to host the first Global Citizen Festival in Japan in 2026.

• Unlock High-Level Policy and Financial Commitments in Asia: The Asia-Pacific region is home to many emerging economies and global influencers. Your contribution helps us mobilize political leaders, corporations, and philanthropies in Asia to commit new funding and policy solutions toward ending extreme poverty, climate action, and health equity. They will also fuel advocacy campaigns that pressure regional governments to make measurable, time-bound commitments in line with the SDGs.
